FAQ for the 10yr Anniversary Batch Fund
1. Bro, what is the fund for?
The Batch Fund is going to be used to finance the activities of the Batch throughout the 10yr Anniversary events in 2009 and 2010. These activities may include subsidies for the various activities & to prepay deposit requirements for merchandise and other expenses. The fund will also be used to reimburse committee members of their various expenses (like phone bill & transportation) in organizing the batch activities.
2. What happened to the money? (who will manage it and monitor the usage)
On 1 Feb 2009, it was decided that Zaaba (Reza Baharin) will be setting up the Batch account to safekeep & manage the monies collected. The collected money is now residing in a Maybank account with Husin (Husni Zainal Abidin) acting as check-and-balance to the movement of cash & any payments made on behalf of the fund. A weekly summary of the fund activity will be posted on the batch wall on Facebook every Sunday. As at 22 Feb 2009, there is RM1,100 in the fund.
3. Will it be deductible through out every activity? (meaning, if I come, I dont have to pay)
Not every activity will be fully subsidized by the fund. The subsidies be on a case-by-case and most importantly, a need basis — more expensive activities will have a larger subsidy e.g. the Batch 10yr Getaway. You will probably have to pay a small token sum if you participate in any of the batch activities though. If there is any excess money in the fund by the end of 2010, there are plans for the fund to remain to pay for any future batch activities that may extend past 2010 or upon consensus, returned pro-rata to the individual contributors.
4. Rm 50 p.m. or RM 600 p.a. is a bit too much for deposits. Can we consider?
On 1 Feb 2009, it was decided that RM50 per month was a reasonable amount.
5. What if I decide not to pay, will I be able to attend the batch’s activity?
You are more than welcome to attend the batch’s activity. However, you may be required to pay the “full-price” of the activity instead of the subsidized amount that contributors would be paying instead.
6. I am often out of town and most probably hard to come to every activity, can I be excluded from the fund?
Yes you may. However, if you decide to attend a batch activity you may be required to pay the “full-price” of the activity instead of the subsidized amount that contributors would be paying instead. Speret batch says you should pay anyway!
